Introduction: Common Census is a technology company serving insurance
carriers, producers, enrollment companies and human resource
departments. We develop, market and service insurance related software
to meet a variety of client needs.  Founded in 1991, the company is
based in Westbrook, Maine and today has roughly two dozen full time
employees. Our team is comprised of sales/admin, Programming, and Plan
Design Services.


Common Census is looking for qualified people to expand the existing
development team to support its rapid growth.  The open position
requires you to think on your feet, to understand the tasks in front
of you and find the right solution in good time. You will be asked to
perform analysis, development, test, document and troubleshoot
software applications using a variety of programming languages and
tools. You may be asked to provide technical assistance and support to
users of computer applications across several disparate systems. If

Duties:

      Design, develop, test and deploy software applications

      Continuously improve yourself; find new ways to do things and
      share them with your teammates

      Find the right balance between meeting clients' requirements,
       maintaining consistency and flexibility in our systems

      Having an understanding of basic database architecture and
      design

      Be part of the team with a positive attitude while performing
      your tasks with a high degree of self-reliance

Requirements:

      A Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related
       software engineering discipline, or equivalent

      Deep understanding of procedural programming, Object Oriented
       programming and other programming techniques

      Experience with the Microsoft .Net framework

      Strong analytical and problem solving skills

      Desired Skills:
       o Experience developing web applications
       o Knowledge of Relational Database and SQL queries
       o Experience with VB.Net, C#, ASP.NET, HTML, XML
